This is Bois Combray airfield's windsock ( B.C. is located at 6 miles from Roanne, Rhone Alpes area, Loire's district ).This airfield was opened in the thirties and since this time has been used as training, learning, recreation, business and commercial airport, with daily flights to Paris until the beginning of this century.
It is famous for its pleasant site, for its privileged location in an area worthy of great advantages such as tourism and gastronomy.
This place is also renowned for good flight conditions. Every year many foreigners are coming here for soaring.
Although the airfield seems lonely on this equinox day, it is usually much more busy: some days before an aviation meeting had taken place here which had attracted thousand of people for a long week end. After the festival, everyone sleeps !!!
