Longwood Gardens was started in 1906 by industrialist Pierre S. du Pont as a place for horticultural preservation. His passion for gardening has created one of the world's great hoticultural showplaces. This year Longwood Gardens, located just west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is having its 2006 Centennial celebration. On my visit, I made it to the Conservatory before the rains arrived and walked the paths through its various sections looking for my 360 panorama opportunities. I took pictures of the Venus Fly Trap plants but upon review I chose the Orchids Room and Banana House area for it's color and space and for the visitors who fell into the view of my panorama. People gathered here because "At any one time 300 to 500 plants are at peak bloom and add color and fragrance to the air."
