Unseasonably warm sunny weather; a very light fog; a crouch through the bushes to get out to the point. There were a few surfers in the cove; the waves were about two and a half feet; the water is cold. The panorama begins with a view of Pewetole Island and Trinidad Head behind it. The beach is College Cove, named for the students that visit from nearby Humboldt State University. Looking straight out into the ocean the flat rock is Flat Iron Rock; it's host to seals and a variety of sea birds.
