Todays market place was until 1811 the site of St.Kathrin Hospital, the 1st Hospital of the City of Esslingen.
It has been used since then and until today for a Farmers Market on Wednesday's and Saturday's and events throughout the year.
On the south side of the Marketplace towers the majestic City Church St.Dionys. First mentioned in 777 A.C.
The 2 towers were built in 1213 and finished in the years of 1275 and 1310 A.C.
On the west side is the Monestary St.Paul inaugurated April 29th, 1268 A.C.

Canon 1Ds, Sigma 8mm, 4 shots, f8 at 1/250 second exposed for the sky in RAW format on a monopod. 2 exposures +-2 from each shot were extracted and blended in PS. Stiched with PTGUI.
