The Cathedral of Our Lady is the largest Gothic church in the Low Countries and was built between 1352 and 1521. The 123m. high church tower has dominated Antwerp´s skyline since its construction. The tower can be seen from most places in the city centre, which makes it an ideal orientation point. Rubens´ monumental masterpieces the Descent of the Cross and the Raising of the Cross keep enthralling visitors even after almost 4 centuries. Both triptyches can be seen on the panoramas below. Several delightful statues, gorgeous stained glass, wall and ceiling painting, tombs and a fabulous 19th century organ.
