The 4,300 square meters Mohri Garden was established as a traditional Japanese garden of a mansion of a feudal lord. It was opened many 350 years ago, in the Tokugawa period. Mamoru Mohri, a former astronaut of the Space Shuttle, and 800 kids released the "cosmo-killifish" into the Mohri pond at July 25th, 2003. The "Cosmo-killifish" are Japanese variety of cyprinodont, very small, 3-4cm sized fish, and descendant of fish which traveled space with the Space Shuttle for the experimental purpose. Latest and one of the most exciting place in Tokyo is Roppongi Hills and Roppongi. Roppongi Hills opened at April 2003. Here, like a town in the city, many people around the world gather to do business, eat wonderfull food, drink alcohol, buy an expensive brandname goods, look at art, cinema, and stay at a hotel. Mohri Garden located at the northeast area of Roppongi Hills. It seems like an another world of crowding and exciting place of Roppongi. Here is the kind of place we want to heal our life, like a feudal lord at 350 years ago. I think here is a sanctuary for people, living in the big city, Tokyo and for the "cosmo-killifish", too.
