Providence Zen Center was founded in 1972 and is the head temple of the Kwan Um School of Zen. The Founding Teacher of this School is the Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn, who is called Dae Soen Sa Nim (Great Honored Zen Teacher) by his students. This is the Dharma Room of the Monastery. The Monastery sits high on a hill overlooking a pond and the surrounding grounds of the center. This is a unique sanctuary in the Rhode Island landscape.
