About the Photographer
I've been a "serious amateur" for 55 of my 68 years, working in a small town photo studio through high school, and earning my spending money with my camera in college. Stationed in Japan in the 60s I thrilled to the precision of Nikon optics (all of which I still have), and since the 80s have combined photography with scuba diving, my other passion. Since retiring from my second career as a non-profit foundation manager in 2004, I've been traveling and shooting pictures. Only in 2006 I discovered the thrill of being able to capture the whole scene- front, back and all around. I have a lot to learn, but I'm having a great time doing it. Two of my panos are from the area of Kutaisi in the center of the republic of Georgia; I travel there annually in my new role as a director for Georgia to Georgia, Inc., a Georgia, USA based charity that helps educate Georgian children orphaned by the civil war. http://homepage.mac.com/chuck.lampman/ Contributions:
