Brooks Leffler has been dabbling in photography since childhood, and taking aerial pictures from a kite line since 1989. Aerial panoramas were added to his repertoire in 2004, and that led to doing panoramas on the ground too.
Brooks worked in public television for 25 years before chucking it all and going into the kite business in 1982. He operated a retail kite shop in Annapolis, Maryland, until 1987, and served as Executive Director of the American Kitefliers Association before retiring in 1994. Now he keeps himself entertained by building kite aerial camera systems in kit form for others, and shooting VR panoramas aground and aloft.
