The World Wide Panorama

Google Earth and the WWP

Google Earth is a fascinating tool that shows a virtual earth globe using satellite images and aerial photos. You can fly all around the world, rotate, zoom in and out and more.

Google Earth is available free of charge for download at Earth.Google.com

The World Wide Panorama website can interact with the Google Earth application installed on your PC. If the photographer has provided GPS data for the panorama, clicking on the link called "Show in Google Earth" will send that location to Google Earth, causing it to zoom into the place.

Note: To see a marker highlighting the panorama's position on the globe, you need to download our Google Earth placemark file first: either as networked (auto-updating) or standalone (non-updating) version.
