Albena is one of the biggest Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria. It is situated 12km from Balchik city and 30km from the nearest civil airport in Varna. The four, three and two star hotels of Albena are well known to the tourists from many countries all around the world. Every summer thousands of people from Europe, North America and Asia visit Albena resort. About 5km long and 150m wide beach coastline and the park infrastructure are the reason for many people to choose Albena for their holiday. The owner of the Bulgarian resort with more than 40 hotels and more than 15 000 beds, Albena JSCo strictly follows the "Green & Healthy" politic for development of the resort in high contrast to the other Bulgarian Black Sea resorts. In direct proximity to Albena is situated the large National forest reserve Baltata, around the delta of Batova river. This has endowed the resort with cool and breezy nights during the Bulgarian hot summer. Albena has open year round the biggest spa, wellness and balneologic center on the Bulgarian seaside. The resort offers unique sports possibilities for organization of events, training camps and big international games. Albena has 7 football fields, multifunctional sports hall, artificial grass field, horse riding club, numerous tennis courts, swimming-pools and large variety of water sports facilities. The resort's congress center has many modern equipped halls for 10 to 1000 guests. Every year, from April till October, hundreds thousands of people meet each other in Albena for sports games and events, incentive activities, conferences, corporate meetings and holidays. All of the above makes Albena a small city, that gives a job for more than 3000 employees.
