What is going on in the atmosphere is graphically represented on local HDTV channels 4.2, 5.2 and 8.2. We also keep an eye on our small roof top weather guage activities [see the other Promise of Rain]. We can see the storm progress on the screens. Sometimes when it shows that the storm is directly overhead we can walk outside and sure enough it starts raining right on que. Thats accuracy !! Yes, when the atmospheric conditions are right... we can get up to 2" [5cm] of rain in an hour. Sometimes we get violent tornado storms too. One year we experienced 4" [10 cm] diameter hail stones. Early warning saves many lives.
