As with many tourist spots, Old Sacramento is all about the Atmosphere of the past. The chugging of the trains from the Railroad Museum, the whistle of the steam boats cruising up and down the river, the gentle ripple of the water as it goes by. There are even rules for the stores. They can't look too modern. Anachronisms are not allowed! This all contributes to the desired Atmosphere. Walk the sidewalks and take yourself back to the days when Sacramento was the gateway to the gold rush.
