As a foreigner living in Indonesia, like me, you of course need a stay permit of some sort. In Singaraja, North Bali, there is since a short time an Immigration Office in the village of Pemaron near Lovina. In this office not only foreigners or their agents go, but also Indonesians that need a passport or travel documents.
This panorama is a portrait of the head of the Immigration office, Ade R. Soeratman (Kepala Kantor Imigrasi Singaraja). Mr. Soeratman, born in Java, but since 5 years living in Bali, is also a painter, and one of his paintings is on the wall in his office.
