I don't know if this is the biggest bookstore in the world, but it sure feels that way -- dwarfing my memories of Powell's in Portland or the Strand in New York City. On this gray Sunday all four floors were packed and winter had loosened its grip on Beijing enough that it was comfortable to hang out in front of the store. The blurred "ghosts" convey a bit of the bustling feel of the city.
