A Vulcan B2 bomber, in its day one of the most impressive aircraft in the sky, a vast delta wing strategic bomber equipped with enormous propulsion and explosive power. The Vulcan takes pride of place in the Midland Air Museum, which is probably unique in that visitors are allowed inside the aircraft to experience the cockpits. Adjacent to Coventry International Airport and a kilometre from a Roman encampment called Lunt Fort, the Midland Air Museum; an independently run collection of commercial and military aircraft, is a tremendous place to visit. Coventry is the birthplace of Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine.
