On a recent visit to Sydney, my host Cathy invited me for a drive to a surprise destination. At the time I had no idea where I was headed, but I now know that Vale of Avoca Reserve and Woods Reserve are located 7.5 km south-south-west of North Richmond on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Mountains, overlooking the lower Grose River and a few kilometres upstream of its confluence with the Hawkesbury-Nepean River. Source: National Parks Association of NSW It would have to be one of the most magnificent sights I've ever seen; a photo - even a VR - doesn't do it justice. If I'd taken another 2 steps forward from my shooting position we would've been able to see the valley floor. However we had no safety equipment and I'm not very brave when it comes to heights! Sadly, only a few days after I took this VR, the general area fell victim to bushfires. As I write this 4 weeks later, the fires are still burning in and around the Grose Vale district.
Some other VRs I've taken
