The panorama was taken from the top of the Atzelbergturm, a sight seeing tower in the Taunus. It was built in 1980 to replace the Luisenturm by the town Kelkheim. Its base is 506.44 m above sea level and the tower itself is 30.39 meters high.

Under the haze left of the telecommunication tower lies Frankfurt.

It was a sunny but cold day and many people were outside to have a walk in the sunshine on the 2nd day of Christmas. We had no snow yet, but the glazed frost gave nice 1 cm long ice needles at the branches of the trees and the top of the tower.
