The city of Sankt Gallen and the Raiffeisenbank (SVRB) announced a design competition to make the Bleicheli Quarter more attractive.

The winning idea of a "public living room" by artist Pipilotti Rist and architect Carlos Martinez is called City Lounge (Stadtlounge). It features a red, rubber-like surface that covers everything on the floor. The blimp shaped lights give a colourful illumination at night.
