Located south of Paris, the Chateau de Fontainebleau is a huge Royal Palace, built from 1528 onwards around the keep of a small medieval chateau, the work being carried out in several stages lasting until the 18th century. Our Panoramic View is taken from the west of this enormous, rambling building, with a direct view down on the impressive entrance staircase by J.A. du Cerceau, circa 1630. The staircase gives access from a simple, pleasing, but formal, courtyard.On the horizon views of the rest of the building give some idea of it's labyrinth.
