This VR panorama shows a 360 degree view of Warsaw, from the Palace of Culture, the tallest building in the city. 68 pictures in 2 rows were taken last August from the upper balcony of the Palace. The project was made in cooperation with Municipality of Warsaw: http://www.um.warszawa.pl/ Warsaw, the capital of Poland since 1596, was founded in the XIII Century on the escarpment which stretches along the Vistula river. This escarpment was initially used for fortifications, and since XVI Century for location of the residences of Poland's most prominent families. The Warsaw panorama, seen from the other side of the river is one of the oldest, worldwide known views of the town: http://www.muzeum-polskie.org/muzeum/dahlberg.htm The road leading partly along the escarpment from Wilanow Palace on the south to Old Town on the north is called The Royal Route: http://www.um.warszawa.pl/v_syrenka/perelki/panoramy/panoramy_en.php The first known photographic 360-view of the city was made in 1857 from the cupola of St. Trinity Church (A large green cupola half-way to the river, leftward from the axis perpendicular to the river).
