This is the manger scene at our local central park, Hackley Park in Muskegon, Michigan. The scene is representative of the time of year surrounding Winter Solstice and the religious holidays that follow. "The Crib" serves as a sanctuary to millions of people that observe and celebrate the birth of Christ.
On a smaller scale, Friday evenings in the summer, the park is transformed into a gathering spot for the Muskegon folk. This gathering, or sanctuary, is alive with local music, social conversation, food and drink. A nice place to be.
