Surfing with dolphins and pelicans while the wild ponies and Sika deer graze the marsh makes Assateague Island National Seashore my personal sanctuary. This moonlit image was taken under a star-filled sky about an hour after sunset. I'm sitting next to my 6' 0" tri-fin surfboard bundled up for the below freezing temperature.
