For someone who's workday alarm clock goes off at 5 am, the actual instance of the solstice was way past my bedtime. Plus I couldn't think of place nearby that I would want to shoot at that time of night. So I just setup in the most lived-in area of my house and shot it as-is, mess included. I didn't manage to stay awake the entire time up to the solstice, but thanks to the alarm on my PDA I was able to wake up in time to shoot at 1:08 am, which is probably much later than I'll be up for awhile, even on new year's eve.
