The transformation of land never comes quite so quickly as under the tender mercies of a developer. In this view of a large area of land outside of El Paso, Texas, the subdivision lines, marked out here by traced roads, are altogether evident. Whether people follow or not (and this was some years ago), there is no denying that the imprint on the land will be long-lasting.
