Northern California - Napa and Sonoma Valleys

The Napa Valley is California's premier wine grape growing region, producing wines that rank with the best in the world. Many types of varietal grapes are grown here, most notably cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel. Strict regulations govern exactly what can be called a Napa Valley wine, and the bulk of the state's wine is produced in the San Joaquin Valley.
