| Lenticular clouds like these are most commonly seen on the lee sides of mountains. As air passes over mountains the turbulence and wavy flow that develops forces air to ascend to slightly colder parts of the atmosphere where condensation occurs. The descending parts of these waves are warmer and cloud free. | ||
