Deciduous tropical wet-dry Forest #2

Komodo Island, Indonesia
January 1995

The tropical forest of Komodo Island has a dry season. Like other wet-dry forests, trees are not as tall, biomass is less (these forests are also commonly burned by people), and deciduousness is common. This image is of the forest floor under trees that have lost their leaves for the dry season.
